National and the 15 year cycle

There have been some comments recenlty suggesting that National will win this election as every 15 years National wins an election. Well, firstly, this is about as scientific as Scientology.

But, there is something about 15 years and National.
It is when they win elections through actually winning them.

1975 National wins, no doubt
1978 Labour wins popular vote but National win more seats
1981 Labour wins popular vote but National win more seats
1984 Labour wins
1987 Labour wins
1990 National wins, no doubt
1993 Labour + Alliance get more votes than National but National win more seats
1996 NZ First had promised to go with Labour but goes with National. Labour + Alliance + NZ First (i.e. anti-National vote) is larger than National vote
1999 Labour et al. win
2002 Labour et al. win
2005 ?????

So, is the National campaign based on not-sucking every 15 years???
