Pope tells NZ to vote for intolerance

The Pope has told New Zealand to vote along moral grounds.

Now, don't get me wrong, I have respect for the Catholic faith, but there are surely more important things for a society to focus on than a couple of queers getting together.

There is more moral strength in arguing that people should not live in poverty than in arguing that people cannot live with people they love.

There can be more done to strengthen families through the reduction of poverty than in stopping two men or two women from raising a child.

In other words, the Catholic Church needs to refocus its energy into fighting for causes worth fighting for.
