Smacking the shit out of children is BAD

Hitting your children is wrong. There maybe little wrong with a slap of the wrist, children after all are predominately physical learners. But it should not be a right of a parent to beat their child. The current law allows for cases where the parent beats the child to get off, and that is wrong. The discretion of charging should be left to the police, without defence in law when they decide that a line has been crossed. The Police already do this with minor assualts (personal experience when my friend was attacked and I was chased by the F*ckwit's friends down Dixon St while talking the Police, and the idiot was stupid enough to wait around for the Police to arrive afterwards, but did he go to trial? No, Police discretion meant he got a warning).
I support Sue Bradford's Crimes (Abolition of Force as a Justification for Child Discipline) Amendment Bill as it will stop tragic cases such as the one Idiot/Savant highlights. Abuse of children is unacceptable. It is good to see someone doing something positive about this finally. It is discrimanatory against children to allow people to be able to assualt them and not anyone else.

The Greens get labelled as loonies by some, but bills like this just prove that they are a serious force within New Zealand politics with serious policies.
